Software Engineering Intern | Jan 2013 - Aug 2013

  • Implemented an internal purchase order system using Django (Python) from the order of the product to the shipping of the product, and displayed detailed sales statistics to understand the company's performance.
  • Redesigned and improved the user interface as well as adding client-side features using Javascript/jQuery for the company's new website product (http://www.cytotoxprofile.com).

  • Created programs for in-house use and ported company's Microsoft Windows application to other operating systems using Java's networking class to communicate with the company's cell analyzer product.

  • Programmed the Spintronics simulator with a 3D simulator using MATLAB based on a nonlinear mathematical model.
  • Researched the directional information flow, part of the Physical Intelligence project, using the Transfer Entropy and programmed the Transfer Entropy simulator GUI in Java.

  • Collaborating with 5 Master students and 2 PhD students to develop an iOS face recognition system App.
  • Implementing the face detection and communication between the iOS App and the backend server.

Ricup iOS App | Aug 2013 - Dec 2013

  • Leading a team of 8 people to develop an iOS App for Ricup.com for students to search events around campus.
  • Facilitating meetings with the client and team members about the systems and requirements analysis and code implementation.
  • Managing the source code in GitHub for version control including merging branches.

myCare Home System | Sept 2012 - Dec 2012

  • Collaborated with 6 other students from different engineering disciplines to bring an imaginary medical care home product to the conceptual design phase.
  • Oversaw the technical requirements and the feature aspects of the product, and evaluated the risk in the design.
  • Organized group meetings, set up schedules, created guidelines of the requirements, and finalized the report.

Transistor Device Design | Apr 2012 - Jun 2012

  • Designed a 32nm MOSFET following the 2012 International Technology Roadmap for Semiconductors Requirements using the Synopsys Taurus Medici.
  • Fabricated the device in simulation using the Synopsys Taurus TSUPREM-4 to confirm whether the design in the Synopsys Taurus Medici was achievable.
  • Configured MOSFETs in a CMOS inverter and simulated the inverter to evaluate its switching performance.

Twitter Spring Indicator | Mar 2012

  • Achieved using R to determine the first day of Spring by analyzing more than 400,000 randomly selected sample of tweets from worldwide with seasonal keywords from 2009-2010.
  • Used flowers as the Spring indicator method and specified to a single flower that yielded the greatest result.
  • Determined the maximum temperature of the day based on the location of the tweets using the Weather Underground API and conducted statistic methods to evaluate the Spring indicator method.
